The Good
This ultra luxury watch has nothing but positive features. At 41mm, the 18 carat Rose Gold case compliments the brown skeletal dial and brown Alligator leather strap with perfection. The size is not too small and not too large — just right for a man seeking a classic timepiece.
The skeleton dial reveals the beautiful Calibre 2936 engine of the Automatic movement that lies inside of the Rose Gold case. The glint off of the scratch resistant Sapphire crystal on both the front and back of the casing showcases this outstanding movement and heightens the overall skeletal design of the piece.
This timepiece features Chronograph features and a Tourbillon with two additional subdials. The tourbillon lies at the 6 o’clock position and shows off the virtuosity of watchmaking over time. While the movement can be counted upon to keep the time without the need of this feature that counters the effect of gravity, the addition to this watch is a thing of beauty.
At the 3 o’clock position lies a 30 minute subdial and at 9 o’clock, a smaller 60 second subdial used for the Chronograph feature, is located. The subdials are all slightly different sizes and some have markings, one has Arabic numerals, and the Tourbillon fits into the skeleton design with ease.
Beyond the subdials, the only graphics shown on this skeleton dial are the Audemars Piguet logo in white in its traditional place beneath the 12 o’clock position; second/minute markers applied in white around the outer rim of the skeleton dial, and Arabic numerals in sequences of 5 around the rim.
The hands of this skeleton dial are made of Pink Gold, which complements the range of metals and colors that make up the overall dial design. With two stylized hands for the minute and hour, and a very thin, spindle second hand, this timepiece is impossible to tell time in anything but ultra luxury style.
The bezel is stationary and made of the same polished 18 carat Rose Gold as the 41mm case. The bezel is polished to a shine and is rounded to give a warm, soft look to this piece. The push buttons and screw down crown are also Rose Gold and are polished to perfection.
