Five Things T Editors Are Really Into Right Now

The Softest T-Shirts

Solid-colored tees in the drabbest of colors are integral to the unofficial T work uniform. Our web editors have a special fondness for the ATM variety, which are soft but not slouchy, and exude an effortless, understated style. The newest version, a limited-edition boyfriend tee, was just released online and at the brand’s East Hampton store. $95, atmcollection.com. — ALAINNA LEXIE BEDDIE

A Trashy Poster, in a Good Way

In New York, we’re uniformly convinced we have the best of pretty much anything you can name: art, pizza, buildings, celebrity sightings. So it only stands to reason that we’d be unreasonably proud of our garbage. Two New Yorkers, the writer Molly Young and the designer Teddy Blanks, set out to prove their devotion to the peculiarities of New York detritus by painstakingly cataloging it, on a weirdly mesmerizing new poster titled “Periodic Table of NYC Trash.” Everything you’d expect is accounted for — a MetroCard, a Band-Aid — along with many items you wouldn’t think to anticipate but will recognize as soon as you see them (a wasabi partition, a bootleg Burberry). As with any project that hinges on New York fetishization, authenticity is key, and Young and Blanks’s bona fides are in order. “We photographed everything in situ,” Young says. “It took months! And was gross.” $40, tableoftrash.com. — ALEXANDRIA SYMONDS

A Smoky Yet Spicy Unisex Scent

It seems like fashionable noses the world over can sniff out the distinct, once cultlike and now-ubiquitous aroma of Santal 33 — and are ever on the search for the next sexy, genderless fragrance. In Los Angeles, Apolis, a socially conscious lifestyle brand, just bottled a similarly intriguing aroma. It was originally released as the scent of a signature candle, and became so popular that the wearable version is poised to be the next big, under-the-radar cocktail of sandalwood, citrus — and fig. $148, apolisglobal.com. — A.L.B.

Bracelets That Are Fun to Stack

The Bogota, Colombia-based designer Yasmin Sabet started the brand Mola Sasa last year — and initially partnered with female artisans from the indigenous Kuna community of Colombia and Panama to create graphic clutches made of colorful hand-sewn fabrics. Each time they made a clutch, Sabet noticed, there would be excess material — not quite enough for another bag, and yet too much to go to waste. So beginning this season, they’re wrapping that excess fabric around thick wood bangles. In vibrant colors and prints, they’re loads of fun — good to wear alone or stack like crazy. “The beauty of the fabrics we use is how well they combine,” Sabet says. “The more you mix together, the more they will stand out. A clear case in point of more is more.” $180, modaoperandi.com. — ISABEL WILKINSON

Not Your Grandfather’s Boat Shoes

As someone who went to school in New England, I have a certain attraction to the all-American, preppy aesthetic. But since I moved to New York City, I’ve find it difficult to embrace the “Take-Ivy” look: Nantucket reds, madras, deck shoes. That changed when I saw the lug-soled boat shoes from Gucci’s resort collection, which give the preppy classic an injection of urban practicality. Because I’m impatient, I did some researching and discovered Sebago, the brand with a decades-long history of making the dockside shoe, has offered a comparable version all along! The Sebago moccasin may look like something for an octogenarian, but with a rugged sole and black leather construction, they’re just right for an urbanite, as well.
