Gentleman Warfare is a crowdfunded watch led by Ilan Srulovicz, the founder of Egard Watch Company, they with the William Shatner celebrity endorsement.
The company offers five different models to suit your warrior taste. They include the Aqua, Stealth, Allure, Bronze, and Classic, all of them permutations on a theme. The massive cases and nice crowns remind me of something found at an archeological dig.
If you are a fan of engraved cases like the ones from Madeworn you will love the engraved model that will become available if there stretch goals are met.
All models will have the reliable Miyota 82S7 movement housed in a 44mm diameter case. The 11mm think case will fix nicely on the wrist thanks to its curved case back. You can view the beating heart of the watch from a window in the dial and a small window on the case back. Dials on this watch have a multi layer appearance which add a higher end look to the watch. The hands are skelentonized but large and legible.
Early bird level 2 models start at bargain price $265.00 and will retail at still low $400. They currently have 152 backer raising over $40,000, well on their way to making their stretch goal of $50,000. Level 2 models expected to ship January 2017.
These watches are not nearly as me-too as others I’ve seen and I’m impressed with he dedication to detail. Engraved watches are all the rage these days and this one looks like something that can win the battle if not the war for my wrist.
