Company dubs Tread “the perfect gift” in the run-up to wedding season as it enters the jewellery sector.

Oregon-based multi-tool company Leatherman is now pitching the world’s first wearable multi-tool, the Tread Metric, to the jewellery industry and is promoting the wristwear as “the perfect gift” for weddings.

While the company is based in America, Leatherman’s Tread Metric will be distributed exclusively in the UK by Whitby & Co.

“It’s a statement piece that’s useful for just about anything, it’s ideal for jewellers looking for something different for the upcoming wedding season,” said Gary Woodhouse, sales and marketing director at Whitby & Co.

He added: “With 29 tools the list is endless when it comes to fixing things or simply just opening a bottle of beer, perfect for newlyweds everywhere.”

Crafted from high strength, corrosion resistant 17-4 stainless steel links that include between two and three functional tools each, the product introduces Leatherman to the jewellery trade. The Tread, which offers 29 usable features including screwdrivers, a sim card pick tool and a bottle opener, starts from £169.95.
