Much as I like extravagant jewellery, and bold ways of wearing it, there are times when I like to bring my attention back to more classic jewels and simpler forms of adornment. Case in point – fringe jewellery whose light movement, equilibrium and iconic silhouette inspires an elegant approach to dress.

One of my favourite fringe-based designs is Hemmerle‘s earring set made with rhodolite garnet, malaya garnet, sapphires, copper and white gold. I also love Penny Winter‘s long necklace which, with its fashionable choker detail and ribbon tie, can be seen as a glamorous alternative to more conservative styles. Last but by no means least, I’m crushing on this ultra-luxurious necklace by Jacob & Co. Its diamond and emerald fringes pay homage to the power and style of the early 1900s, and to fringe jewellery down the decades.
