Three new Zenith Star watches steal the twinkling wonders of nature from the night skies to illuminate the passing hours

Many watch lovers this August will be craning their necks towards the night skies to enjoy the Perseid meteor show, nature’s annual spectacle of shooting stars.  And Zenith, the Swiss brand with the star logo, is particularly inspired by celestial events and brings a twinkle of stars into women’s everyday life in its latest Star watch models.

The Zenith Star collection incorporates three new models this year in rose and white gold with a sprinkling of diamonds or a version full-set brilliant-cut diamonds, available in store from October.  All members of the Star 2014 collection feature an elegant 33 x 33mm slim, cushion-shaped case, just 9.45mm in height. The beauty of the cushion-shaped case is the way the circular bezel merges into the square case, softening its profile to produce a sleek harmonious look.

The Star model that Zenith proposes for daytime wear is the rose gold case with a milky white mother-of-pearl dial set with 12 diamond hour markers and an inner bezel ring adorned with 72 brilliant-cut diamonds.

Taking the carat weight up a notch, with 72 brilliant-cut diamonds on the dial, 104 on the bezel and a further 42 on the buckle, the Zenith Star watch in white gold will light up your most glamorous nights. But if its maximum impact you desire, the stunning full-set white gold model, with a total of 765 diamonds on the dial, bezel, lugs, case and clasp, is unbeatable.

As many Zenith enthusiasts know, the Swiss watchmaker shot to fame with its 1969 El Primero calibre watch, an integrated column-wheel chronograph movement that whizzes at a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour ensuring accuracy to the nearest 1/10th of a second.

Although the first 37mm Star models were decked out with this revolutionary movement, the new, smaller 33mm Star watches house an ultra-thin Elite calibre 681 automatic movement to respect their slimmer profile. At just 3.47mm thick, the manufacture movement keeps the hour and minute hands ticking for 50 hours. And, as is customary of high-end movements, the rotor has been decorated with Côtes de Genève motifs visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.
