Manish Arora AW15/16
It goes without saying that the month-long extravaganza which comprises Milan, London, New York and Paris fashion weeks keeps us more than busy at Adorn HQ. With our Adorn Insight hats on, we analyse each and every piece of jewellery that hits the catwalks – 1000s of images in all – in order to identify key emerging ideas as well as shifts in colour, material and style from one season to the next. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it. And we love it, of course!!
There have been some amazing ideas to emerge, but what struck my whilst sifting through the images over the weekend was a penchant in Paris for some seriously full on jewellery styling ideas. Never knowingly understated Manish Arora sent out elaborate bejewelled head dresses, at Vionnet anything less than seven necklaces was a no no. Interestingly, both Balenciaga and Givenchy adopted remarkably similar ideas, liberally covering models’ earlobes in an assortment of dangles, drops and studs.
As someone who often struggles to decide between one piece of jewellery and another on any given day, this ‘chuck it all on’ approach to self adornment has definitely got my vote!
