The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) is hosting its annual Loughborough conference with the jewellery trade in September.

This conference appeals to all sectors of the industry with over 200 individuals in attendance from including valuers, retailers, manufacturers, gemmologists and crafts people.

The NAJ’s annual Loughborough conference, now in its 29th year, will be taking place from Saturday 16 to Monday 18 September.

Attendees can expand their knowledge and make new contacts through its programme of presentations and workshops during a two-and-a-half-day residential event held in Loughborough, at the University of Technology.

Speakers include industry stalwarts Stephen Alabaster, Harriet Kelsall, Guy Clutterbuck and David Callaghan.  Whilst the workshops will cover pearls, gemmology, jewellery, silver, photography and promoting your business to name but a few. Other conference attractions include exhibitors, a Gemstone Market and the ‘Welcome to Valuing’ sessions which are designed for those who are thinking about becoming a valuer.

IRV chairman, Frank Wood, who will be there to welcome guests, comments: “This superb conference is set to benefit any business within the jewellery trade. We have a raft of international speakers and 29 workshop sessions to choose from. The Welcome to Valuing sessions are a must for those interested in introducing valuation services into their business.”

The Loughborough Conference is organised by the Institute of Registered Valuers, which is a division of the National Association of Jewellers; this year the Institute is celebrating its Pearl Anniversary.   The conference is sponsored by: Gem-A, T H March (Gold Sponsors), Crown of Light, The GemGuide, The Guild of Valuers & Jewellers and Quantum Leap (Silver Sponsors).
