We get it. You’ve seen dozens upon dozens of bridal parties on Pinterest wearing perfectly mismatched dresses… But not sure where to get started when it comes to trying this trend on your own bridal party? Well don’t worry, we’ve done the work for you and have a few priceless tips and stunning inspiration images using Lauren’s Paper Crown bridesmaids dress collection.
This color story in particular is inspired by champagne. (After all, nothing says elegant better than a little bubbly, right?) But you can translate these tips to suit any color palette of your choosing. Check them out below…
Step One: Select Base Color
The first part to creating a mismatched bridal party is choosing the colors you cannot live without. The first colors we selected were two Paper Crown brand staples, ‘Blush’ and ‘Silver Peony.’

Step Two: Select Supporting Fabrics
Once you have selected your main colors, start to visualize which colors could fill in as the supporting role. With ‘Blush’ and ‘Silver Peony’ already selected, we knew we had to mix in our new Vintage Gold fabric available exclusively at Nordstrom. The sheen of the fabric gives just the right amount of dimension to the assortment, and complements our champagne inspiration at the same time! While playing with swatches, we noticed our ‘Tote Basket’ and ‘Cream’ fabrics mixed in quite nicely a well, so we decided to add both to the mix.

Step Three: Select Length
With your colors narrowed down, it’s important to decide if you want all of your ‘maids in dresses of the same length. Will you go with a classic maxi length, or mix it up with short or midi length dresses? Remember, there is no right or wrong when it comes to creating the perfect assortment! This part is all about your personal taste and the level of formality of your event.

Step Four: Select Silhouettes
There is nothing more important than having both you and your ‘maids feeling and looking great on your big day, so making sure everyone is comfortable in their dresses is essential.
