Power Source

The power source of the Transocean Chronograph is a Breitling 01 caliber Self Winding Mechanical movement. Using the kinetic energy of the watch-wearer, you can keep this beauty ticking for a long time.

The power reserve is outstanding, with a minimum of 70 hours of reserve during non-use.

The Good

There are many, many excellent aspects of this Breitling that it is difficult to list them all without rehashing the entire specifications list.

One of the best aspects of the Transocean Chronograph Edition is the slim design. The case is round in shape and is only 15.90mm thick, which looks fantastic on the wrist. You can purchase this timepiece with different strap options, including the Ocean Classic (featured in this review), which is looks fantastic with its steel design and rounded mesh-design strap. It is slim and sleek and perfectly complements the overall, highly polished design.

The design is simply world class. The 43” dial features a Mercury Silver design. With a Twin-Zone Silver-Toned Decor, the famous Breitling “B” appears in 18K Gold and the subdials are silver with gold hands keeping time. While Breitling calls the color “twin-zone,” it is more akin to a Champagne color.

The three hand design includes luminous gold hour and minute hands indicating the time against gold markers at each hour position. The tachymeter scale (probably excessive on this watch) sits on the outer rim of the dial.

The design is gorgeous because of how well the dial complements the rest of the timepiece. With a solid steel case, the polished bezel, steel crown, and strap looks world class together. The symmetry makes this a very attractive men’s wristwatch.

The Bad

As this Limited Edition is fairly new on the market, there have yet to be negatives that have reached our ears about this model. From function to form, Breitling seems to have hit this one out of the park.

It is difficult to choose just one or who highlights of this fine timepiece, but we’ll give it a try.

The overall design of the Transocean Chronograph Edition is stunning, with luxuries that other timepieces forego. For example, not only is the window crystal made of the standard scratch resistant Sapphire, but it is convex in shape and is also glare proof, as well.

The case back features an Exhibition, Transparent Sapphire crystal as well, which offers the same protections.

The self winding mechanical movement contains an amazing 41 jewels and an outstanding power reserve of a minimum of 70 hours.
