This Masterpiece Flyback uses a Swiss-made Automatic movement. This Caliber ML15 movement works the main time, 2 date windows, and the three subdials that make up the face of this Chronograph.
Featuring 49 jewels, this luxury movement is reliable, precise, and looks fantastic behind the Sapphire crystal exhibition window featured on the back case.
The Good
This timepiece is excellently constructed, features an excellent movement, and has a range of timekeeping features that is kept with precision. This makes narrowing down the good easy.
For one, the size is perfect for most men — at 42mm, this stainless steel case is the perfect size for a classic watch. This Masterpiece Flyback features an exhibition back protected by the same Sapphire crystal as the front dial.
The gorgeous dial is Silver in color (925), which offers a great, sleek, and classic look. With stainless steel Arabic numerals that are boldly applied around the rim inside of the Flyback-inspired markings around the outer rim.
The main dial and subdial hands are an incredible metallic blue with the hour and minute hands featuring a green, luminous fill. This perfectly complements the metallic of the stainless steel case, bezel, Arabic hour numerals, and the Silver dial.
In true aviation style, not only does the dial feature outer-rim markings, but the bezel is engraved with black Arabic numerals and markings for use as a Tachymeter.
This Swiss made Chronograph uses an excellent ML15 automatic movement that is capable of keeping track of the 8 different time functions on this timepiece: 2 subdials, the Chronograph subdial, the three-hand main dial hands, and the two calendar windows.
The Bad
There are no negative aspects to this timepiece that have been reported by wearers. From functionality and design standpoints, this Maurice Lacroix is top notch.
Functionality
The functionality of this watch is just as expected for a quality timepiece. What makes it even more impressive is not only does this watch feature three subdials, including one used for the Chronograph feature, but it also features full three-hand main hands and two calendar windows (one of which is a split window).
With a ML15 caliber movement, this is an impressive feat, to precisely blend this incredible design
The Highlights
What makes this timepiece especially useful and aesthetically pleasing is the amount of busy features on the entirety of the dial and bezel. In addition to the engraved Tachymeter on the stationary bezel, this Flyback has all of the various timekeeping and Chronograph features that is common in aviation-inspired watches.
The Silver dial and blue metallic dial hands look outstanding against the stainless steel of the 42mm case and the stationary bezel.
What makes this timepiece really special and aesthetically pleasing is the functional dual-calendar features. Between the 4 and 5 o’clock position is the month of the year, displayed in black against a white background, under a magnified window (e.g., “OCT). In addition, central to the 12 o’clock position between the center of the dial and the Arabic numeral 12, lies a beautifully designed split-window that displays the day of the month.
The genuine Crocodile leather is black and made from the best of materials. You can easily see the sheer quality and fine craftsmanship that has gone into this Masterpiece Flyback by Maurice Lacroix.
