Lara Bohinc’s Orbit Collection

Lara-Bohinc-Orbit-Collection-AW2014

Lara Bohinc‘s Orbit collection for AW2014 is cut and shaped from flat sheets of acrylic. Its evocation of the circular movement of celestial spheres complements Bohinc’s iconic Planetaria and Eclipse collections, yet in this case takes its inspiration from the simple geometric shapes of modernist furniture.

Distilling jewellery down to its essential elements, the ‘Orbit’ collection makes a visual statement through contrast: two-dimensional planes crafted into three-dimensional volume; sleek, flat surfaces from which stones issue with the spontaneity of natural growth; and rich yet transparent stretches of uniform colour.

We saw hints of ‘Orbit’ on the Pre-Fall 2014 catwalk, stay one-step-ahead and for serious street cred, pair with a minimalist suit and graphic heels right now.
