It seems like only yesterday we were thrilling over the jewellery at the ss2013 pret a porter collections, but the the world of fashion stops for no one and we’re excited to have started the week with an eye on the ss2013 shows which kicked off yesterday with Atelier Versace.
True to form for this glam Italian powerhouse, the dresses were tight, the models stunning and the assembled fashionistas groomed to within an inch of their lives. But as ever, we had our eye on the jewellery of which didn’t disappoint with its gilded oversized cuffs and hoop earrings.
What struck us as more interesting this time though was Donatella’s novel fusion of garment and jewellery to create a series of dresses whose necklines – conjured from neon and gold leather tubes fastened with zips – resembled cool choker necklaces. Not only was the combination of sporty aesthetic with evening wear of the highest order fresh and fun, it’s sure to spawn a few imitators on the high street come spring.
