Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Italian jeweller Buccellati is unveiling an impossibly romantic collection of unique engagement rings.
The aptly named Romanza is the first engagement ring collection designed by Lucrezia Buccellati, working alongside her father Andrea Buccellati. Lucrezia joined the family business last year as its first-ever female designer and, if this collection is anything to go by, the feminine touch will only enhance the house’s already delectable designs.
The collection of eight unusual engagement rings was inspired by seven iconic muses in European literature, including Titania from Midsummer Night’s Dream, Beatrice from Dante and Guinevere of Arthurian lore.
Buccellati’s trademark techniques are evident throughout the collection, such as the honeycomb pattern reminiscent of a bride’s veil, the fine lace detailing and the intricate stellar rigato engraving that lends the gold a silk-like appearance. The addition of a single central diamond or a trio of gems adds a magic sparkle that further emphasises the fine craftsmanship that has defined the Milanese house for almost a century.
