Carmen Chaplin produces a short film for Jaeger-LeCoultre to celebrate the 180th anniversary of the Manufacture

The British actress and film director Carmen Chaplin has worked with Jaeger-LeCoultre to produce a short film called ‘A Time for Everything’. Created to coincide with the 180th anniversary of the Swiss watch manufacture, it celebrates the memory of Charlie Chaplin, Carmen’s grandfather.

The theme of the film is time and how it relates to the relationship between the Chaplin family and Jaeger-LeCoultre. Carmen Chaplin inherited from her grandfather his Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox watch, which was given to him by the Vaudois Canton in 1953.

The short film explores the relationship between three generations of women and the themes of the passage of time and the cycle of life. Alongside the strikingly beautiful Carmen is her mother Carmen Chaplin and her baby daughter Uma Chaplin Bhalla.

For those attending SalonQP, you will have the chance to see Carmen Chaplin as she will be visiting Jaeger-LeCoultre’s stand on Friday 9th November.

As well as being granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin, Carmen Chaplin is great granddaughter of Eugene O’Neill. Carmen was born in London but grew up in France and Spain. Her film career started with Wim Wender’s production of ‘Until the End of the World’, and she is currently working on her first film, called ‘Bombay Nights’.
