Chopard jewellery paints the town purple at the Venice Film Festival

By Åse Anderson

A new Chopard jewellery campaign was launched at a star-studded dinner this week in the glamorous setting of the Venice Film Festival. The Swiss jewellery house also unveiled five new high jewellery creations as part of its celebrated Imperiale collection.

The Empress Jewellery Box capsule collection encompasses a watch, earrings, ring, necklace and tiara, which can be worn on their own or together for a full-on flamboyant effect. Described as a jewellery version of the ideal wardrobe for a modern empress, the five pieces have a timelessly chic feel with a design that is firmly rooted in contemporary aesthetics. On the Chopard watch, the iconic Imperiale motif is traced with diamonds over a mother-of-pearl dial, while the rose gold high jewellery pieces are adorned with diamonds and amethysts.

As one of Chopard’s flagship collections, Imperiale continues to dazzle with a contemporary elegance that is both delicately feminine and rich in detail. With a design inspired by the Roman Empire, the first Imperiale watch was launched in 2010, followed by a Chopard jewellery collection a year later. Interwoven lacework in rose or white gold is reminiscent of the cushion on which emperors placed their insignia, while the lustre of amethysts evokes the imperial purple of the Byzantine court.

The new advertising campaign stars top model and Chopard ambassadress Hilary Rhoda in a series of stunning shots, which will be launched in three stages. Talented photography duo Luigi & Iango have imbued the images with a sensual power and vibrant energy, which conveys the essence of the Imperiale universe. At the launch of the campaign in Venice, Hilary Rhoda wore the ring and bejewelled headband from the new Imperiale red carpet jewellery collection.
