Yesterday Maia and I enjoyed a day at Somerset House drooling over the latest jewellery collections from some of the UK’s most exciting brands. From the edgy opulence of Mawi’s neon colour pop settings to Kyle Hopkins’ take on transforming everyday objects into functional jewels, London’s creative talent is bursting with newsness and excitement.

He captured the romance of the story through his hand drawn illustrations and beautiful palladium ring.Rock Vault is always a highlight and is made more sweet by the fact that we sat on the British Fashion Council’s selection panel this year. It was great to see Husam El Odeh’s installation inspired by a fairytale he had written as a young boy.

Tomasz Donocik’s dragonfly ring celebrates the intrinsic beauty of the ephemeral insect and we were quite taken by the fact that ring itself transforms into a single solitaire for day and a magnificent winged jewel for night. Yunus & Eliza’s sculptured jewellery brought an edge of theatrical drama into the showcase whilst Imogen Belfield’s rough rocks made us want run our fingers along the tactile surfaces of her oversize nugget rings and carved bangles. Last but by no means least, it wouldn’t be a trip to London Fashion Week without the traditional splash of Street Style. Here’s a taster of what jewellery style on the streets looked like yesterday.
