I would have loved to have been on the front row of Christopher Kane’s RTW F/W2013 fashion show back in February, maybe seated next to Salma Hayek and husband François-Henri Pinault, the ‘king’ of PPR Group but I had to settle for watching the show online.Looking back at the catwalk influencers of some of AW2013’s hottest jewellery trends, one of my favourite designers springs to mind.

Needless to say, I fell in love with Kane’s metal chokers and amazing cuffs. The extraordinary interplay of swirls and futuristic petals wrapping necks and wrists would not have looked out of place in a modernised series of ‘Wonder Woman’, with the twirling Lynda Carter reprising the lead role.

Smooth, polished and incredibly powerful, Kane’s jewellery details are at the bleeding edge of modern luxe, with their strong aesthetic and artistic appeal.

Still in a ‘back to the future’ mood, I revisited my London-based Greek friend Maria Piana‘s jewellery – the determination of her highly attractive Arcus pieces obliges us to consider such unconventional jewellery as wearable art.  Don’t you agree?
